friend has. All your friend has to do is

use a ruler to find the right letters.
c. Write the letter of your message on the lines
on the ruler and give the ruler to your friend.
Your friend will easily find the message.

Another way of writing secret messages is to scramble the letters using
two strips of papers and having a key letter.
